Winds From The Nation Rising
Short video, long intro: This one came in "over the transom" (as the old-timers used to say). It is about much more than offhsore wind on Lake Erie (although it is about that, too, and it's a damned good idea).
This year NewEnergyNews has written about comparable and even more ambitious local efforts, from the Buffalo Niagara rust belt region of upstate New York to the Green Coast Innovation Zone on California's bucolic central coast. There's something happening at the grassroots of this nation. It has nothing to do with Tea. It is about citizens joining together to build the New Energy economy the few fossil fools at the federal level are keeping the Obama administration from advancing. And when those newly committed folks realize who's in their way, the Old Energy advocates better watch out.
